Spirit Juice Studios filmed a behind the scenes video of Rebecca Ocean explaining the inspiration of writing and performing her spoken word piece for the 2020 National March for Life official theme: “Life Empowers: pro-life is pro-woman.” Ocean tells us how she was emboldened to fully embrace being a pro-life feminist after she heard Norma McCorvey speak (also known as Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade) about authentic femininity meant caring for each life from conception to natural death.

The 2020 March for Life theme honored the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which allowed women to vote in the United States, and the undeniable link between its anniversary and authentic women’s empowerment in defending all life. The March for Life is a national pro-life gathering in Washington, D.C., in which thousands of participants peacefully march for the right to life to be legally respected in the country. Along with Ocean’s empowering explanation, the video also highlights how the collaborative piece was finalized.
